The realization of the Led2 standard requirements.

In 2003 a committee consisting of the industry association ASTRIN, the test and certification institute KEMA and the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, has established a standard for Led signal heads. The so called Led2 standard.

The Astrin border definition was verified, in order to formulate a uniform classification of the Led2-lamp. The aim was to make the exchangeability of Led signals possible, without the need for testing of all the possible combinations of lamps and controllers.

The border definition was established for both class 1 and class 2 lamps. The Led2 lamp is a class 2 lamp.
